Standard University Course
Several modules in the RSE curriculum correspond to well-established courses that are already offered at most universities — for example Requirements Engineering, Software Architecture, Software Testing, and Machine Learning. For these, the curriculum deliberately does not prescribe a bespoke, RSE-specific module description.
Instead, departments are expected to slot in their existing course of the same name (or a close equivalent) to cover the required ECTS. This keeps the curriculum lightweight, avoids duplicating mature teaching material, and reserves the detailed, RSE-specific module descriptions for the genuinely new competencies of the programme.
When selecting a concrete course, make sure it covers the standard body of knowledge for the topic and matches the ECTS listed in the curriculum table.
